Synergine is privileged to support the Canterbury post-earthquake rebuild.
Our teams have been working with a diverse range of clients to provide professional services and project management services for commercial and residential rebuilds and repairs. Following our initial engagement in September 2010 to provide building damage assessment services, Synergine’s involvement has expanded, mobilising a highly experienced and technically skilled team of over 20 engineers, specialists and project managers.
Programme and Project Management
Our Project Management Services team have assisted a large insurer by establishing its significant Canterbury repair and rebuild programmes across its residential, multi-unit and commercial portfolios. This programme required the creation of processes, teams and systems in order to effectively co-ordinate the assessment of damage to properties, identify repair strategies, and to construction project manage repairs and rebuilds for hundreds of customers. Our good practice collaborative approach ensured an effective programme was established which is now consistently producing good outcomes for Canterbury, despite the challenges of working in a post-disaster environment. We are fully committed to achieving good outcomes for the people of Canterbury and continue to provide project management services into this programme.
Damage Inspections and Structural Design
Our Technical Services team have undertaken in excess of 250 damage inspections and structural reviews of properties in Christchurch, drawing on our highly skilled engineers to verify large numbers of claims for earthquake damage to commercial and residential properties, both in pre-construction and during construction. Our work extends into structural engineering design, where we provide advice and producer statements as properties move into carrying out its rebuild or repair work.
